My Dad had surgery today. It was a quadruple bypass surgery on his heart. The last thing he said to me yesterday was that my cutouts are too big for a table jigsaw. He was right. I broke the leg off of one of my cutouts trying to use it. But it worked really well for the smaller “You Are Beautiful” cloud.

Elisa Harkins is a woman of many talents. She creates and illustrates children’s stories based on her dreams, builds conceptual interactive installations, illegally posts her street art in Wicker Park [Chicago], curates the Version and Select Media festivals hosted by Lumpen Magazine, Djs and does freelance Web design, among other things. She also self-publishes a zine, titled Digital Disobedients, which has more to do with her curatorial experience, she says, than her personal work as an artist. The sleek, slim zine is focused on digital tactical media and hacktivism, featuring interviews with artists who use the Internet to spread misinformation and make political statements.

In the art and design UR Chicago Magazine they are running a story about Tragic Beauty, which is Cody Hudson, Chris Silva, Mike Genovese, and Juan Chavez. On the side panel is a little blurb about me and my cutouts. They spelled my name wrong, and re-edited the blurb to have misinformation about my work, but who cares!

Sorry, bad editing. People were talking while I was shooting and I became frustrated and just shut off the camera. There was a huge stink about the whole action and eventually the cops came and tried to take Edmar to jail.
